Writing Samples

This website is one big writing sample--I wrote and edited every sentence on every page. However, it doesn't cover the full spectrum of my writing. I'm including, therefore, just a few samples of my work.

Restaurant review (Hero):  My community newsletter is always looking for reviews of local restaurants. I obliged them, and on 20 April 2023, my review of a restaurant named Hero was published in the newsletter.

Blog post (Sacrifice):  On 29 October 2015, I published a blog entry titled "Sacrifice" on my personal blog. In the post, I describe some difficult days; at the time of writing this, I was having more difficult days than easy ones. Soon after publication, I stopped writing for several years, in part because I found myself writing only about difficult days.

Blog post (The In-Between):  On 26 April 2015, I published this blog post about the ever-present transitions of a nomadic lifestyle. Because I was in the middle of a move, it was a stressful time; however, it was expected to be stressful, and I had every reason to hope that things would get easier.

Training and Certificates

The Poynter Institute for Media Studies is a nonpartisan, nonprofit journalism school and research institution. They partnered with ACES: The Society for Editing to create a copyediting course, which I completed successfully on 24 April 2023.
